We need to remind ourself about this bolstering industry called mining, most expecially in nigeria.
About few weeks ago, Mr Mohammed Amate the  Director-General of mining cadastral office, granted an interview with NEWS AGENCY OF NIGERIA in Abuja. He disclosed government has signed memorandum of understanding with some mining companies to start major exploration in states like KOGI, KEBBI, OSUN, etc. Companies like KOGI MINES LIMITED, SEGILOLA NIGERIA LIMITED,  NORTHERN NUMERO RESOURCES LTD, WEST AFRICAN POLARIS INVESTMENT LTD, TONGYI ALLIED AND MINERAL SERVICE, AND DANGOTE NIGERIA LTD.
He said SEGILOLA NIG. LTD wouldnbegin minibg of gold in iperindo area of ilesha schist belt of osun.
Also, MINES GEOTECHNIQUES NIG. LTD. and NORTHERN NUMERO RESOURCES LTD, both Australian companies would begin mining of gold this year 2015 in kebbi state.
He said, Dongote would conclude its coal exploration in 2015 and was expected to right away start mining of coal in Kogi and Benue. Nothwithstanding, Dangote had been operating toward commencing coal mining in each states, adding that the corporate command mining titles covering stone, coal and mineral.
The director-general said the West African North Star Investment Ltd, a Chinese company, would start mining of tin and columbite in Nasarawa State.
He said the Tongyi Allied and Mineral Services Ltd, another Chinese company, would begin mining of lead/zinc in Wasa, Plateau State.
Mr Amate also layed emphasis on the fact that corporations would start major mining operation in varied locations within the two states as they'd drawn their reserves.
He also claimed that 169 tiny Scale Mining corporations had already begun mining gem, gold, lead/zinc, columbite/Tantalite among others across the country.
and lastly he suggested the miners to hold out their operations lawfully, pay their fees promptly to the govt yet as reclaiming mines sites as provided by the law.
He conjointly warned miners to not discharge any harmful materials into any atmosphere that would create danger to lives.
He stressed that any harmful sludge or tailings should be properly discharge and check the pH of such discharge.
He futher stressed that african countries had been losing plenty of cash to outlawed mining. He later said govt had place in situ measures to checkmate the challenge.
Please let us not forget all this information it looks as if it's too beautiful to be true. The essence of this is to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel for this great profession.
